Granfondo del Po

Where: Ferrara

This is an atypical Granfondo characterized by the total absence of climbs, but challenging as a result of speed and wind. The race takes cyclists through beautiful landscapes along the longest cycle paths in Italy, between Emilia-Romagna and Veneto. A long journey that will allow you to spend a weekend surrounded by art, history and sport, and to discover Ferrara with its medieval streets, its Renaissance palaces and its ancient castle, together with the grandeur and beauty of the most important Italian river.

Two routes: one long, covering a distance of 133 km and an average distance of 79 km. The race starts in Ferrara, along the river Po and following a scenic route, with the countryside on the left and the Po on the right. Among the beauties not to be missed, the Po Delta Park that stretches from Adria to Comacchio, the “little Venice” with its famous bridge “Trepponti” and Ariano island, which is the last stop in Veneto . From here, the knights return to Emilia and arrive at Guarda Ferrarese, another stage that offers precious historical sites. In Ro, another highlight with the Oasis of the Mulino sul Po, which offers a magnificent example of a river mill. The pilots return to Ferrara for the finish line. The Granfondo del Po is part of the UNESCO CYCLING TOUR circuit, which aims to enhance our national heritage.
